Bio
Scott Decker started his coaching career in 1984 at UC Davis as an assistant for the Women’s Water Polo Program. During the next 4 years, he assisted then Head Coach Jamey Wright until he graduated in 1987. Upon graduation in 1987, Scott Decker was hired as the Men’s Water Polo and Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach at El Camino High School in Sacramento. Over the next 10 years, Decker guided the Eagles Water Polo teams to over 200 victories during his tenure, and was twice named Capital Athletic League Coach of the Year in 1991 and 1995.
After becoming Sierra College’s 1st ever Women’s Water Polo Coach in 1994, Scott Decker also took on the role of Head Coach of Women’s Swimming & Diving at Sierra College in 1996. Since that time, Decker has lead the Lady Wolverines Swim & Dive program to 14 Conference Championships, 3 Top 3 finishes at the State Swim & Dive Championships, 10 Runner-up finishes at the State Swim & Dive Championships, and in 2017 lead the Lady Wolverines to the State Championship Title, making him the only Women’s Coach in Northern California History to win a State Championship in both Water Polo and Swim & Dive. The Women’s Swim & Dive program has finished in the Top 7 in the State for the last 21 straight years, while also producing over 225 Community College All-Americans in Swimming & Diving.
Decker has won multiple Conference Coach of the Year Awards, and in 2009 & 2017 was named the California Community College State Coach of the Year. To top things off every school record has been set during Decker’s tenure, and the Team has also captured the CCCAA Team Scholar Award.
