The Wolverines are currently ranked fifth out of eight teams in the Big 8 Conference, as of press time. Sierra has qualified for the NorCal Regionals as a team, which will be played at Yolo Fliers Club in Woodland on Nov. 7 to Nov. 8. The top four teams at that event will play at the State Championship on Nov. 14 to Nov. 15 at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande.
Last week was the conclusion of Big 8 Women’s Golf competition, with teams heading to Modesto JC for the 10th and final round of 2019 league play. Sierra has spent the early part of the season in fierce competition with Modesto for the second and third spots. However, by the end of league competition Sierra came in as the third place team, with a total score of 128, six behind Modesto in second. Reedly took the first place spot with 158.
Sierra College Athletics kicked off the 2019 season with a busy week. Women’s Soccer played a home match before heading to Ventura, CA for two more, Women’s Volleyball took to the road for four matches, Men’s Water Polo traveled to Merced for three matches and Women’s Golf traveled to Modesto for the first tournament of their season.
Sierra College Women's Golf started off the 2018 campaign by heading to Ventura, CA for the South Coast Classic on Monday, August 27 and came back to Rocklin with the first place title!
