The Sierra College softball team scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to escape Folsom Lake College with a 10-5 game- two win over the Falcons Saturday afternoon. Mikea Lewis drew a walk to lead off the seventh, followed by a Rylie Carlier single. Kaone Hunter then ripped a two-run single to put the Wolverines up 6-5. Mackenzie Lockhart's single set the stage for sister Megan Lockhart's pinch-hit, two run double. Megan came in on a Rachel Tadlock single and thenTadlock scored on a McKenna Anderson single. There was also plenty of drama in the Sierra sixth as the Wolverines erased a 4-2 Falcon lead with a leadoff HR from Hunter and RBI singles from Tadlock and Syrina Vasquez. Sophia Medina picked up the win in the circle. Game one had less drama as the Wolverines led 9-1 after two. Carlier blasted a three-run HR in the top of the fifth that cleared the scoreboard over the centerfield fence to give Sierra a 13-1 cushion. The Falcons scored three times in the home half of the fifth for a 13-4 final. Carlier finished 2-4 with the HR, a 2B and five RBI. Shyanne Winje was 3-3 with a 2B and Jenna Patterson had a 3B and a 1B in three at-bats. Sigrid Holtrop claimed the complete-game win in the circle. Sierra bats registered 30 hits in 12 innings on the day and the Wolverines swiped eight bases, led by Vasquez's four. Sierra (23-4, 10-2 Big 8) looks to avenge a 4-3 conference-opening loss at Modesto when it hosts the Pirates (6-14, 4-7) Tuesday (3/28). First pitch is at 3:00pm.
