Wolverines headed to State after 4th place NorCal finish
The Sierra College men's golf team picked the perfect time to put together two of their best rounds of the season. The Wolverines combined to shoot a two-round, 36-hole team score of 762, good for fourth place at the NorCal Championships at Madera's Dragonfly Golf Club.
With the effort, Sierra grabbed the final spot in the State Championship tournament to be played Monday, May 14 at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara. The Wolverines tied with Taft for the fourth spot, but won the tiebreaker because Sierra had a better sixth man score in the second round.
Sam King was the low man for Sierra, posting rounds of 76, 73. Westney White posted back-to-back 75s and Kyle Katz went 77, 74. Tre Hunter (79, 77) and Andrew Knight (78, 78) also had two rounds in the 70s. Jose Correa Wilson 89, 85.
