Sierra College Women's Volleyball had a great two sets before nearly dropping the third to Cosumnes River, but the Wolverines recovered to capture the 26-24 third set as well as the 3-0 win. After a 25-18 and a 25-6 first and second set respectively, the Hawks rallied to keep the score nearly tied the entire third set, often going one up on Sierra. But Sierra was able to capitalize on a few Hawk mistakes to clinch the win in just 3 sets.
The Wolverine offense was methodical throughout the match, with all but three players recording at least one kill, and Alex Cook racking up 30 assists. Kylie Shinn led in the attack category with nine kills, followed by Kapri Pelle and Grace Lemmo with six kills each. Ryan Blackwood picked up a match leading six digs, as well as five service aces. The Wolverine volleyball team heads to Modesto on Thursday (9/28) to take on the Pirates before returning to Goto/Goldenberg court in Rocklin to face Folsom Lake on Wednesday, October 4 at 6:30 PM.
