Sierra College Women's Soccer blanks College of the Sequoias 12-0 in Tuesday afternoon's home opener.
The Wolverines took 39 shots, 24 on goal, with 12 finding the back of the net. Six Wolverine players scored off of 10 assists, with sophomore center Morgan Irwin leading the pack with three goals, one of which was unassisted. Scoring two goals apiece were sophomore center Keely Fink, freshman forward Grace Vargas and sophomore center Samantha Craig. Freshman forward Alexis Day led the team in assists with five on the day, while Grace Vargas was responsible for two assists.
Sierra heads to southern California this weekend to take on College of the Canyons on Friday, August 31, and Santa Barbara City College (who are the 2017 CCCAA state champion runner-up) on Saturday, September 1. The Wolverines are back in action at home on Tuesday, September 4 as they host Shasta College at 5:00pm.
