In the summer of 2015, Coach Stephens served as the Field Manager for the Fairbanks Goldpanners of the Alaska Baseball League. The Alaska Summer Baseball League is filled with Division 1 talent from throughout the country, and is host to some of the most competitive baseball Summer Leagues have to offer. During his time with the Goldpanners, Stephens managed the #5 prospect in the league, pitcher Ryan Hingst from Arizona State University, as well as talent from schools such as UC Santa Barbara, University of Oklahoma, UC Irvine, and Pepperdine. Stephens also served as the winning manager for the 110th annual Midnight Sun Game.

During the summer of 2014, Coach Stephens served on the staff of the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods Collegiate League as the Hitting Coach. In his time in Green Bay, the Bullfrogs ranked in the top 5 in the league in On Base Percentage, Batting Average, Runs Scored, and Runs Batted In.

Coach Stephens graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. While attending UC Irvine, Stephens competed on the Baseball Team, which was ranked in the National Top 25 both years he attended. In his two years with the Anteaters, Stephens served as the leadoff hitter, and started in Left Field, while also playing stints at second base.

Prior to UC Irvine, Stephens enrolled at Sierra College out of high school and was named the team’s starting shortstop the following spring. Stephens returned to Sierra for a second year receiving a Preseason All-American honor, as well as a 1st Team Big 8 All-Conference selection as an outfielder. After a successful season in which he led the entire Big 8 in hits, 2nd in average, and 4th in steals, Stephens received multiple scholarship offers but ultimately signed a Letter of Intent with nationally ranked UC Irvine. Stephens finished his college career hitting over .300 with close to 200 hits.

Jeff is a Novato High School alum, and claimed All-League and All-Metro honors two straight years in football and baseball, with an All-State Football Medium School Division nod his senior year. He now resides in Roseville, CA and completed his Masters in Sports Science with a major in Sports Coaching, and an emphasis in NCAA Compliance in the fall of 2015.
