The Sierra College beach volleyball team ended the regular season Friday with a split against Foothill and Cabrillo at Livermore Park in Folsom. Sierra's 1's, Stefanie Christofferson and Kylie Shinn, won both their matches against the Owls and the Seahawks, including a tense 17-21, 21-19, 15-9 win over Cabrillo's Paige Schieferstein and Marissa Ottesen.

The Wolverines (8-4 Coast conference) outlasted Foothill (2-10) 3-2 in the opener, with Christofferson/Shinn (1's), Grace Lemmo and Maddy Rowland (4's), and a forfeit in the 5's providing the margin of victory. Cabrillo (8-3) clinched second in the Coast with a 4-1 in an afternoon match that was closer than the final score indicated. Sierra 3's, Ryan Blackwood and Kalala Strickland went the distance, dropping their match 18-21, 21-10, 11-15, and Wolverine 4's Lemmo and Rowland also fell in three sets, 21-19, 18-21, 5-15.

The CCCAA NorCal playoffs are up next for Sierra, with the team playoffs Thursday (4/27) and the individual playoffs Friday (4/28) at West Valley College in Saratoga.
