Wolverine Week in Review — February 11, 2020 Women’s Basketball takes down defending state champions Diablo Valley, Baseball extends win streak to 7 and Women’s Tennis dominates at the Modesto Tournament. Wolverine Week in Review — February 4, 2020 This week saw the Spring season really get under way, with Baseball and Softball both hosting teams in their 2020 home openers. Volleyball Ends 2019 with 4th Straight Big 8 Title; NorCal Finals Appearance In recent memory, Sierra College Volleyball has dominated both the Big 8 Conference and California community college volleyball, making appearances at the CCCAA state championships, participating in playoff appearances every year this decade, and winning four straight Big 8 titles since 2016. The 2019 team continued that tradition of excellence, with yet another Big 8 conference championship, NorCal final appearance and finished in the top 16 in the state and the top eight in northern California. Outstanding Wolverine coaches, student-athletes and contributors from Sierra's storied history are honored each year at the Hall of Fame Induction. In 2020, eight new members were added, including the 2008 State Championship Baseball team.
2019 Athletic Scholarship Celebration
Sierra College Athletics celebrated over 100 student-athletes transferring to four-year institutions at the 2019 Sophomore Transfer Celebration. The athletic celebration is an annual event held to honor Wolverine student-athletes who are moving on to the next level, both in athletics as well as academically. Student-Athletes from all of Sierra's 18 intercollegiate teams were honored for their athletic and academic performance during the 2018-19 academic year, with coaches and administrators speaking about the amazing successes of their time as Wolverines, and how Sierra College has helped prepare student-athletes to succeed in the future.
Sierra finishes 4th in 2018-19 NATYCAA standings
Sierra College (146.5) led the standings after the midway point of the 2018-19 athletic year and took fourth. Mt. San Antonio scored 162 points to take home top honors, Riverside City College was second with 159. Third was Fresno City College (152).
