    Women’s Basketball takes down defending state champions Diablo Valley, Baseball extends win streak to 7 and Women’s Tennis dominates at the Modesto Tournament. In addition, the Wolverine Athletic Association inducted 8 new members to the Sierra College Athletic Hall of Fame, including the 2008 State Champion Baseball team.

  • Volleyball Ends 2019 with 4th Straight Big 8 Title; NorCal Finals Appearance

    In recent memory, Sierra College Volleyball has dominated both the Big 8 Conference and California community college volleyball, making appearances at the CCCAA state championships, participating in playoff appearances every year this decade, and winning four straight Big 8 titles since 2016. The 2019 team continued that tradition of excellence, with yet another Big 8 conference championship, NorCal final appearance and finished in the top 16 in the state and the top eight in northern California.
  • Volleyball Falls to Cabrillo in 5-set Thriller at NorCal Finals

    Sierra, coming off a 10 match win streak, a fourth straight Big 8 Conference title and round one playoff victory was looking for an upset and a chance to compete for the 2019 state title. Despite a valiant effort from the Wolverines, however, Cabrillo was able to edge Sierra in 5 sets for the 3-2 victory.
  • Women’s Soccer Advances to 2019 NorCal Finals with 4-1 Win over Clovis

    Sierra College Women’s Soccer hosted Clovis on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in round two of NorCal Playoff action. Despite a gusty, cold and drizzly day in Rocklin, as well as a strong Clovis squad, Sierra knocked off the Crush with a 4-1 victory, advancing to the NorCal finals against Lake Tahoe this Monday.
  • Volleyball Sweeps Sequoias 3-0 in Round One of NorCal Playoffs

    Sierra College Women’s Volleyball is on to round two of the 2019 NorCal Playoffs with a decisive 3-0 victory over Sequoias last Tuesday. With the win, Sierra joins the field of eight remaining NorCal teams vying for a spot at the 2019 CCCAA State Championship in Chula Vista next weekend. Sierra will face Cabrillo this Saturday in the finals, with the winner advancing to the state tournament.
  • Back-to-Back Grizzly Bowl Champions - Sierra takes down Laney 21-14

    Sierra College Football took down Laney College last Saturday as the Wolverines brought home their second straight NorCal Grizzly Bowl title! Sierra took down the Eagles with a 21-14 victory. Last year, Sierra beat Sacramento City at home 24-10 in the same bowl game.
  • Thrilling 3-2 OT Victory Over Evergreen Valley Propels Wolverines to Round Two of Playoffs

    In a thrilling overtime victory last Saturday, Sierra Women’s Soccer knocked off Evergreen Valley 3-2 to advance to Tuesday’s Round Two match against Clovis on November 26 at 2:00pm in Rocklin.
  • Sierra Volleyball Topples ARC 3-2, Preps for Final Big 8 Match this Tuesday

    Ninth ranked Sierra Women’s Volleyball pulled out all the stops last Friday at American River, toppling the fourth ranked Beavers in a thrilling 3-2 victory which brought Sierra neck and neck with ARC for first place in the 2019 Big 8 championship race.

    The 2019 Sierra College Women’s Cross Country Team’s second place team honors is the highest team finish by Sierra College at the Northern California Championships since 1981.

    The Sierra and Santa Rosa cross country women raced to personal best performances at the Big 8 Championships on November 1st.

    Men’s and Women’s Basketball kick off 2019 season, Football adds a victory over Feather River, Women’s Soccer and Volleyball both pick up wins while Women’s Golf, Women’s Cross Country and Men’s and Women’s Water Polo gear up for conference tournaments and post season action.
  • Women’s Golf Picks up Third in Big 8, M Anderson Takes Individual Third

    Last week was the conclusion of Big 8 Women’s Golf competition, with teams heading to Modesto JC for the 10th and final round of 2019 league play. Sierra has spent the early part of the season in fierce competition with Modesto for the second and third spots. However, by the end of league competition Sierra came in as the third place team, with a total score of 128, six behind Modesto in second. Reedly took the first place spot with 158.
  • Volleyball Takes Down Santa Rosa 3-1; Finishes First Half of Big 8 Play 6-2

    After a postponement earlier in the season, Sierra Volleyball traveled to Santa Rosa on Monday, October 21 to face the bear cubs. The Wolverines stumbled in the second set, but found their footing in the fourth to take down Santa Rosa 3-1 and improve to 6-2 in the Big 8.
  • Wolverines Hand Shasta First Loss of 2019 to Kick Off League Play

    Sierra Football improved to 4-2, adding a fourth win to their streak by knocking off previously undefeated Shasta 44-21 last Saturday in Rocklin. The Wolverine team was firing on all cylinders, with outstanding performances from offense, defense and special teams. Sierra rides their four game win streak into this Saturday’s (October 26) game at American River, kickoff scheduled for 1:00pm.
  • Women’s Soccer Leads Big 8 After First Half of League Play

    Sierra College Women’s Soccer once again leads the Big 8 conference halfway through 2019 competition, accumulating a 7-1 league record thus far. At the half way point Sierra sits as the frontrunner, and looks to continue that success in the second half of conference play and defend their 2018 Big 8 title.

    It was a slower than average week for Wolverine teams as Women's Cross Country, Football and Men's Water Polo had the week off. Sierra was still in action however, as Women's Golf, Women's Soccer, Women's Water Polo, Wrestling and Volleyball all picked up at least a win a pice in competition last week.

    Sierra College Athletics continues the 2019 season with Volleyball, Men’s Water Polo and Women’s Water Polo Remaining Undefeated in Big 8 play, Women’s Soccer picks up another win and Football extends their win streak to three straight with a 45-20 victory over Sacramento City.

    Sierra College teams saw lot’s of action this week, with Women’s Soccer taking on American River and Sacramento City, Volleyball faced Folsom and Cosumnes River, Wrestling battled in the West Hills Tournament, Men’s and Women’s Water Polo started off Big 8 play with a win each and Football took down Diablo Valley 23-17.

    It’s been busy for Sierra College Athletics, as seven of our eight Fall sports saw action this week. Among other things, Women’s Soccer and Volleyball entered Big 8 play, Football picked up their first victory of 2019, Women’s Golf added another second place finish to their record and the Sierra Wrestling team was crowned 2019 Tournament Champions at the Mt. SAC Duals in Walnut, CA.

    Sierra College Athletics kicked off the 2019 season with a busy week. Women’s Soccer played a home match before heading to Ventura, CA for two more, Women’s Volleyball took to the road for four matches, Men’s Water Polo traveled to Merced for three matches and Women’s Golf traveled to Modesto for the first tournament of their season.
